Patricia Underwood Vintage Wide Brim Woven Natural Straw Hat 。Ralph Lauren Collection, c. late 1990s–early 2000s — a wide-brimmed raffia hat by Patricia Underwood, the American milliner whose decades-long collaboration with Ralph Lauren produced some of the most quietly significant hats in his archive. The crown is structured but low, the brim wide and softly undulating; the band is a slender length of warm caramel suede, threaded through the crown and finished with long ties that fall down the back. Fine hand-braided raffia in the natural colour of toasted wheat, the weave structure visible at close range — the work of a milliner who understood that a hats character lives in the braid itself. In very good vintage condition. Two notes of full disclosure: the suede ties show some minor areas of discoloration consistent with age, and the brim carries a careful repair (approximately 4\", executed by hand in fine clear nylon thread for strength and invisibility). The repair sits at the brim and is not visible in normal wear. Particularly lovely for summer travel, garden weddings, and the kind of long afternoons that call for a hat with proper architecture.
