Crafted with a beautiful, lightweight horsehair braid technique, the expansive brim features alternating solid and translucent concentric bands that create a striking striped silhouette. Designed to sit elegantly atop the head without disturbing intricate hairstyles, the hat features a shallow crown typical of the late 1930s and World War II home-front era. It is beautifully accented with a wide black satin band, a central floral rosette centerpiece, and a structured, oversized statement bow at the back. The interior band retains its original blue-and-white \"New York Creation\" label, issued by the New York Dress Institute. This historic union tag firmly dates the piece to the 1940s, marking it as a true product of New York City’s historic Garment District. Excellent vintage condition. Exceptional structural integrity; the massive brim maintains its crisp, flat, geometric shape without warping or collapsing. The straw and horsehair braid are clean and well-preserved. Grosgrain ribbon and satin bow remain securely attached.Interior: Remarkably clean interior band with no makeup staining, sweat discolorations, or faint storage marks. The historic union label remains fully intact and securely attached. Brim Diameter: 14 inches (across widest point) Crown Depth: 3 inches.
